Armetta (Mattie) was born on May 21st, 1877 in Hood Co., Texas.1 Armetta (Mattie)'s father was James Elisa Basham and her mother was Nancy E. Stacks. Her paternal grandparents were James A. Bassham and Sarah C. Blanton. She had a brother and four sisters, named John Lee, Mary Etta, Dovie J., Ida Pearl and Emily Jewel. She was the second oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 54 on April 25th, 1932.1 General Notes
