The author supports this v iew b ased on five a rgum ents.  Th e first is

marr i ed an unnamed daught er of Ga rci a Sanchez, having by h im a s on
Raym ond, who i n turn had son s R aymond an d Bisho p Hugh.  The secon d
a rgument is based o n t he tendancy to 'marry up' the socia l ladder -
tha t
R aymo n d would be likely to marry a dau ghte r of a person of h ighe r
socia l s tatu s, a role that would a pply to a da ug hter of G arcia. The
third point is ba sed on the proposed pass age o f Comm i nges-Cou serans
