Chalon was born about 1843 in , , Kentucky, USA.1 Chalon's father was Willis Underwood and his mother was Nancy or Lera Johnson. He had six brothers and a sister, named William, John, Jeff, Alford, George Henry, Eli and Jane. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died in April 1896 in Elizabethtown, Hardin, Kentucky, USA. He was buried on April 17th, 1896 in Mt. Sherman Cemetery, , Hardin, Kentucky.2 2 General Notes
(Research):I believe his wife is Clarissa SKAGGS (daughter of George & Ann SKAGGS of Green County, Kentucky - seen 1860 & 1870 Census) On the 1870 Census Chalon (age 26) & Luncinda M. (10 months) are living with George & Ann SKAGGS, but no Clarissa. But Chalon/en would've been born about 1843/44 not 1833. Then an 1880 LaRue Co., Census shows a C. UNDERWOOD (age 33), w/wife Clarisa (age 34), dau, Lou (age 11), dau, Milly (age 7). Is C. UNDERWOOD, Chalen? Then he would've been born in 1847.
I found a LaRue CountyCemetery entry for C. H. UNDERWOOD, 17 Feb 1833 - 15 Apr 1896 and Sophronia A. UNDERWOOD (daughter of C.H. & Clarissa) 11 Jul 1869 - Sep 1869. So would Sophronia and Lucinda be twins? And Sophronia & Clarissa died of illness in 1869?
