ARETTA "ETT" ADKINS, 85 of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 3, 2002, in Heartland of Riverview Nursing Home, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Leo Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, W.Va. She was born October 12, 1917, in Wayne County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Fisher and Tennessee (Finley) Maynard. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem United Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Basil Adkins; three sisters, Ollie Smith, Dollie Napier, Victoria Crowell; two brothers, Frank and Roy Maynard; two half brothers, Thomas and Winchester Marcum. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Carson and husband, Randy of Richmond, Va., Carolyn Hall and husband Edgar of Wayne, W.Va.; two sons, James Adkins and wife, Donna, Ronnie Adkins and wife, Nancy, all of Wayne, W.Va.; one stepson, Leo Adkins and wife, Eva Gay of Wayne, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2002, at Morris Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Community Hospice, Ashland, and the staff at Heartland of Riverview.
