Nicholas was born in 1530 in Lydiard Tregoze, Wiltshire, England. Nicholas' father was John ST. JOHN and his mother was Margaret CAREW. His paternal grandparents were John ST. JOHN and Joan INWARDBY; his maternal grandparents were Richard CAREW and Mary OXENBRIDGE. He was an only child. He died at the age of 59 in 1589.-
