John KILLIGREW 
John was born in 1500 in Fowey, Cornwall. John's father was John KILLIGREW and his mother was Jane PETIT. His paternal grandparents were Thomas KILLIGREW and UNKNOWN AGNES; his maternal grandparents were John PETIT and Jane ANTHORNE. He had three brothers and a sister, named Bennet, James, Thomas and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 67 in 1567.General Notes

Nor did they disdain to indulge in acts of piracy on thei
r own. On one occasion, Sir John the elder, assisted by hi
s wife, Lady Killigrew, and servants, plundered a Spanish s
hip which had been driven by storm into the harbour. Thi
s was the event already referred to earlier which earned La
dy Killigrew her reputation as a female pirate.
They had five sons and five daughters, named Henry, John, Peter, Thomas, William, Margaret, Alice, Amy, Grace and Jane.
