Philip was born in 1789 in NORTHAMPTON, PENNSYLVANIA. Philip's father was Christain ZAHRFAS and his mother was Lyola FELLERS. His paternal grandparents were Herr Johan Philibus SERVAS and Frau Maria Catherina ALTEMUS. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Jacob, Christian, Elizabeth, Hannah, Lavina, Susannah, Sarah and Catharine. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
