Richard was born in 1749 in ON THE ROANOKE, VIRGINIA. Richard's father was William RUSHING and his mother was Mary PAUL. His paternal grandparents were Herr Matthew M. RUSHING and Frau Elizabeth Dove VROW; his maternal grandparents were John PAUL and Mme J PAUL. He had six brothers named Phillip, Abraham, John, William, Solomon and Jacob.
