Alexander was born about 1267 in Breneville, Ayrshire, Scotland. Alexander's father was David De Lindsay and his mother was Margaret De Lindsay. His paternal grandparents were David De Lindsay and Mrs. David De Lindsay; his maternal grandparents were Walter De Lindsay and Christian Lindsay. He was an only child. He died after 1308.-
