Amanda Caroline was born on December 6th, 1853 in PECAN POINT, MISS., ARKANSAS.  Amanda Caroline's father was Solomon Joseph DESPAIN and her mother was Ruth Amelia NEWELL.  Her paternal grandparents were Solomon DESPAIN and Nancy BELL; her maternal grandparents were ASAHEL NEWELL and Elizabeth (BETSEY) BUSHNELL. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Solomon, William Joseph, Hyrum SMITH, Henry WALTERS, EDWIN SYLVESTER, ORSON AUGUSTUS, David Alvin, Oscar NEWELL, Dora MELVINA, Ella EUGENIA and Clara Louisa.  She was the sixth youngest of the twelve children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Mark Lorenzo, Walter Gustave, Francis Otto, LOTTA Pearl and Ina PAULINE.  She died at the age of 71 on June 20th, 1925 in BURLEY, CASSIA, Idaho.  She was buried on June 23rd, 1925 in BURLEY, CASSIA, Idaho.
