Maud was born about 1088 in Belvoir, Suffolk, England. Maud's father was Roger le Bigod and her mother was Adelise De Toeni. Her paternal grandparents were Roger Le Bigod and Billeheude de St. Sauveur; her maternal grandparents were Ralph III de Toeni and Isabelle de Montfort. She had three sisters named Jane, Gunnora and Cecily. She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Hugh. She died before 1136.-
