Matilda de Thornton

Matilda was born about 1335 in Beeston, Cheshire, England. Matilda's father was Sir Peter De Thornton and her mother was Lucia De Hellesby. Her paternal grandparents were Randolph De Thornton and Katherine Saint Pierre; her maternal grandparents were William de Hellesby and Alice Hawise Tursell. She had four sisters named Eleanor, Margaret, Elizabeth and Beatrice. She was the second youngest of the five children.
