Marcus Pratt was born on April 28th, 1837 in Thetford, Vermont. Marcus Pratt's father was Marcus Hartwell Wheeler and his mother was Sarah Pratt. His paternal grandparents were Amos Wheeler and Eunice Hosford; his maternal grandparents were William Pratt and Abigail Connor. He had a brother and two sisters, named Edward Gilman, Sarah Anne and Ella. He was the oldest of the four children.-
