Adalbert "The was born about 0990 in Melk, Niederhosterreich, Austria.  Adalbert "The's father was Luitpold 'the Illustrious' and his mother was Richenza of Sualafeld.  His paternal grandparents were Arnulf 'the Bad' and Grafin von Sulichgau Jutte; his maternal grandparents were IV Ernst and Pilfridus of Freissing. He had five brothers and four sisters, named I, Margrave of Austria, Poppo of, Leopold of, Heinrich of, Juette of, Kunegunde of, Christine of and Hemma of.  He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  He died on May 26th, 1053.
