Alexander was born about 1265 in Crawford, Scotland. Alexander's father was David Lindsay and his mother was Margaret Lindsay. His paternal grandfather was David Lindsay; his maternal grandparents were William Lindsay and Alice Lancaster. He was an only child. He died after 1308.-
