Samuel Knowlton 
Samuel was born in 1613 in Canterbury, Kent, England. Samuel's father was Capt. William Knowlton and his mother was Ann Elizabeth Smith. His paternal grandparents were Richard Knowlton and Elizabeth Cantize; his maternal grandparents were Richard Smith and Eliza Canty. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, William, Thomas, Mary and Susanna. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 42 on April 3rd, 1655 in Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.General Notes
Samuel2 KNOWLTON, b. ca. 1611 (Tingley says 1626); d. 1655, unm. He was a mariner and although presumed to be in England, was certainly at Hingham prior to 22 Sept. 1655 when inv. of his estate was taken by his nephew John.
