Arthur Raymond was born on September 23rd, 1918 in Gary, Deuel, South Dakota. Arthur Raymond's father was Johann (John) Eikamp and his mother was Antje (Anna) Beving. His paternal grandparents were Aalderk Jochums Eikamp and Klaaske (Clara) Smidt; his maternal grandparents were Dick (Dirk) Beving and Mareka Willemssen. He had a brother and four sisters, named Allen John, Clara Margrette, Martha Emma, Ruth Anna and Dorothy May. He was the second youngest of the six children.-
