Elizabeth was born about 1351 in Chillingham, Northumberland, England. Elizabeth's father was Sir Alan De Heton and her mother was Constance Lilburn. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas De Heton and Agnes; her maternal grandparents were Sir John Lilburn and Constance. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Edgar, Mary, Mariona and Joan. She was the third youngest of the six children.-
