Jacques was born about 1155 in Avesnes, Pas-de-Calais, France. Jacques' father was Nicolas "Plukiel" D'Avesnes and his mother was Countess de la Roche Mathilde. His paternal grandparents were Wauthier D'Oisy and Princess Of Mortagne Ade; his maternal grandparents were I Henri and Mathilde De Limbourg. He had a brother and three sisters, named Radulph, Ida, Fastré and Mathilde. He was the oldest of the five children. He died on September 7th, 1191 in Nr, Arsoef, Palestine.-
