Archibald Yell was born on July 28th, 1856 in Hindsville,Madison Co,Arkansas. Archibald Yell's father was Philimon Williams and his mother was Emily Sherrod. His paternal grandparents were Rial Williams and Orpha Garrett; his maternal grandparents were Rev. William Sherrod and Charlotte Miller. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Rial, Moses, William, John Breckenridge, Margaret Alice and Emily. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 90 on March 15th, 1947 in Artesia,New Mexico.-
