John Whittier

John was born on December 23rd, 1639.  John's father was Thomas Whittier and his mother was Ruth Green.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Whittier and Mary Rolfe (Rolff). He had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Nathaniel, Richard, Joseph, Mary, Ruth, Susannah, Hannah and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the ten children.
