Rebecca was born in 1711. Rebecca's father was Jan Jansen Van Meter and her mother was Margaret Mollenauer. Her paternal grandparents were Joost Jansen Van Meteren and Sara DuBois; her maternal grandparents were Hendrick Mollenauer and Cathelina Bodyn. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, Henry, Abraham, Jacob, Elizabeth, Rachel and Maudlina. She was the oldest of the eight children.
