Mary Ann was born in Perry County,Indiana. Mary Ann's father was Miles Terry and her mother was Cynthia Ann Walker Bennett. Her paternal grandparents were John Terry and Esther Brown. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Henry S., Aaron, Clara, Esther and Margarah. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named John Newton, Lucinda, Louisa and Sarah Jane. She died in died age 18.-
