Rebecca Ann was born on December 5th, 1854 in Crawford County,Indiana. Rebecca Ann's father was Benjamin Neal Sloan and her mother was Mary Ann Sands Douthit. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Sloan and Leannah Bolling; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Douthit and Maria Riley. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Silas W., Winfield Scott, Archibald Franklin, Elmer Elsworth, Edward, Oliver Howard, Haden Finley, Clarissa Ellen, Lidda Martha, Leannah Caroline and Mary Belle. She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William Harrison, John Eads and Janette (Jennett). She died at the age of 77 on January 4th, 1932 in Marengo,Crawford County,Indiana. She was buried in Marengo Cemetery.-
