John Skidmore 
John was born in 1663. John's father was *John Skidmore and his mother was *Susanna Davis or Smith. His paternal grandparents were *Thomas Skidmore and *Ellen Prigg(e); his maternal grandfather was *Fulk Davis. He had three brothers and a sister, named Samuel, Thomas , Leut., Joseph and *Abigail M.. He was the oldest of the five children.General Notes

I leave to my three sons, Joseph, John, and Thomas, all my lands, messuages, and tenements, and if they cannot agree, they are to be divided by my executors. I leave to my 3 sons, and to Daniel Bates, of Smithtown, 118 sheep. I leave all my movable estate, except as above, to Abigail Smith and Temperance Skidmore. I make my son Joseph and my well beloved friends and brothers, Joseph Whitman and John Whitman, Sr., executors.
