Cordelia Ellen was born on March 15th, 1867. Cordelia Ellen's father was George T. Scales and her mother was Sarah E. Stephens. Her paternal grandparents were William Levi Scales and Mariah Powers. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William Josiah, James Thomas, John Louis, Lucinda Catherine and Sarah India. She was the oldest of the six children.-
