Gideon READ 
Gideon was born on February 5th, 1746 in Freetown,Bristol Co.,Massachusetts. Gideon's father was Oliver READ and his mother was Martha DURFEE. His paternal grandparents were John REED JR JR. and Mary PIERCE; his maternal grandparents were Thomas DURFEE and Ann FREEBORN. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Oliver, Jonathan, Nathan, Benjamin, Mary and Wait. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died after 1777.General Notes
