John Powers 
John was born in 1838. John's father was Isaac Powers and his mother was Philenia Rice. His paternal grandparents were Isaac H. Powers and Abigail Davis. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Mariah, George Wesley, Miles, Massa, Minerva, Laura and Elizabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Samuel and Dica.-
