General Notes

When Rudolph was small boy he hit a loaded pistol with a hammer and injred his hand.  He attended Vallejo High School after he went to his uncle Randolph and he graduated from Berkley College.  Became quite rich from estate of Uncle in Vallejo, CA.  Donald and Kenneth were highly educated and very smart men.


Rudolph Miller went to California, entered the gold race and made quite a lot of money.  Whe Rudolph II grew up, Rudolph I sent for him to come to his ranch, where young Rudolph stayed.  After his Uncle's death he purchased two ranches and was considered quite wealthy.  Rudolph I had promised inheritances to his relatives and claimed his estate was ample for all his brothers and sisters.  His promises never materialized as the only will found left all to Rufolph II.

After Henry Miller I died his son, George W. Miller, was told he could have the Miller homeplace as he reared the younger children.  Their stepmother, Polly Humphreys, was paid $300.00 for her share of the home and she left and remarried.  In the meatime George kept the home up and paid the taxes.

In 1904 (about) Rudolph I returned  to Ohio and with the assistnce of Emma Miller Widmer, sold the Miller home and charged George rent for all the years he lived there.  It broke George's heart and he started to drink, ending up with a nervous breakdown from which he never fully recovered.  They moved to Beaver, Ohio where Dora, the older daughter, taught school.  Later they moved to Springfield, Ohio.  Shortly thereafter George died.  Then Dora and the widow of George went to live in the home with Ruth, the younger daughter, and her husband, Charles Washburn.

Henry Miller I had two brothers, Sam and Randolph.  Sam lived in jackson County, Ohio.  He had 3 girls and 2 boys.  All went west.
