Adelphus was born in January 1893 in Spurgeon,Pike County,Indiana. Adelphus' father was James Edward Ferguson and his mother was Cordellia Ferry. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Ferguson and Mary Ann Julien; his maternal grandparents were Francis A. Ferry and Sarah F.-------. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Commodore, Adolphus, Mary and Goldie. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 49 in 1942 in Littles,Indiana.-
