Edith-Aldgyth's father was Aelfgar and her mother was Aelfgifu.  Her paternal grandparents were Leofric and Godfigu or Godiva. She had three brothers named Morkere, Burchard and Eadwine. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Morkere, Burchard, Eadwine and Edith or Aldgyth or.

‌Edith-Aldgyth and Griffith ap were married in a religious ceremony about 1057.  They had a daughter named Nesta.
