Caty's father was Abraham Douthitt and her mother was Catharine Stoehr. Her paternal grandparents were John Douthitt and Mary Elizabeth Scott; her maternal grandfather was Gasper Stoehr. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Abram, Jacob, Annie, Mary, Rebecca and Sarah. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Henry, Linu and Unis.-
