Richard was born about 1655 in Of St. Kitts,Hillesden,Buckinghamshire,England. Richard's father was Robert CLAYTON and his mother was Elianor ATHERTON. His paternal grandparents were Thomas CLAYTON and Anne BLUNDELL; his maternal grandparents were John ATHERTON and Mrs-John ATHERTON.
