Walter was born about 1204 in Dunmow, Essex, England. Walter's father was Robert Fitzwalter and his mother was Gunnora De Valoines. His paternal grandparents were Walter Fitzrobert and Maud De Lucy; his maternal grandfather was Robert De Valoines. He was an only child. He died before April 1258.General Notes
