Waltheof was born about 1046. Waltheof's father was Earl Siward Biornsson and his mother was Countess Aelfled of Berncia. His paternal grandparents were Biorn Bjorn Ulfiusson Estridsen and Daughter; his maternal grandfather was Earl Aldred of Bernicia of Northumbria. He had a sister named Sibyl. He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Waltheof II, Waltheof II, Sibyl and Sibyl. He died in 1076.General Notes
