Garcia VI The's father was Ramiro II and his mother was Christina Diaz.  His paternal grandparents were Sancho IV and Constanza of Moranon; his maternal grandparents were Rodrigo Diaz of Castro el Cid and Dona Jimena Diaz.  He was an only child.

They had a daughter named Blanche.
