Ramesse II of Egypt, known as The Great, was born in 1314 BC. The Great's father was Pharaoh Sety I of Egypt and his mother was Tuya of Thebes. His paternal grandparents were Pharaoh Ramesse I of Egypt and Sitre Meryamun Twosret Setepenmut of Egypt; his maternal grandparents were Ruia of Thebes and Raia of Thebes. He was an only child. He died in 1224 BC.
