William le was born about 1225 in Gidley Manor, Chagford, Okehampton, Devonshire, England.  William le's father was Sir William le Prouz and his mother was Miss de Gidley.  His paternal grandparents were Walter le Prouz , of Chagford and Sarah de Dinham; his maternal grandfather was Giles de Gidley.  He was an only child.  He died before October 21st, 1270 in of Gidley, Stodbury, Cumesheved, Hacche, & Colton, Devonshire.1 


William le's first family with Alice FitzGilbert de Ferrers

‌William le and Alice FitzGilbert were married in a religious ceremony about 1250 in 2nd wife.1   They had a son named Richard.
