Robert (Rollo) Duke of was born in 0846 in Norway. Robert (Rollo) Duke of's father was Jarl Eystein Ivarsson Glumra and his mother was Ascrida Ragnvaldsdottir. His paternal grandparents were Ivar Oplaendinge Jarl of the Uplanders of Norway and Eysteinsdotter Throndheim; his maternal grandparents were Ragnvald Gudrodsson of Agder and Tora Sigurdsdottir. He had eight brothers named Malahule Haldrick, Turstan, Turstan, Turstan, Hrollangr, Rognvald Eysteinsson Earl, Thorir Rognvaldsson Earl Of and Thorir Rognvaldsson Earl Of. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 85 in 0931.General Notes

The Normans, Men of the North, werea mixed nation of the fiercest Norwegians, Swedes and Danes, and becamesettled in Neustria in France at the beginning of the 10th Century whenCharles the Simple, King of France, conferred the Duchy, since calledNormandy, on Rollo the Dane, one of the most celebrated of the Normanleaders. This renowed chieftain married 1st Poppae, daughter ofBerengarius, Count of Bayeux, 2nd Gisela, daughter of Charles, King ofFrance. By the first wife he left at his death, in 931, two sons and twodaughters: William, Robert, Count of Corbell, Crespina and Gerletta.
