Ranulph de was born about 1070 in Briquessart, Livry, France.  Ranulph de's father was Ranulph de Meschines , Viscount of Bayeux and his mother was Margaret d' Avranches.  His paternal grandparents were Ranulph Vicomte of Bessin and Alice of Normandy; his maternal grandparents were Viscount Richard le Goz d' Avranches and Emma de Conteville.  He was an only child.  He died in Cheshire, Cheshire, England.  He was buried in St Werburgh, Cheshire, Cheshire, England.1

‌Ranulph de and Lucy of were married in a religious ceremony about 1098 in England.2   They had a daughter named Adeliza Alice de.
