Humbert I of Beaujeu was born about 0942.  Humbert I of Beaujeu's father was Ld. Berard I of Beaujeu and his mother was Windelmodeof Escuens.  His paternal grandfather was Ld Guillaume II of Forez; his maternal grandfather was Ct. Gui of Escuens. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Humbert II of Salins and Adela of Salins.  He died in 1016.

They had a son named Guichard I of Beaujeu.
