Fernando I Sanchez of Castile, known as The great, was born about 1017 in Burgos, Burgos, Spain.  The great's father was King Sancho III Garciez of Navarre (The great) and his mother was Prcs Nunia Sanchez of Castile.  His paternal grandparents were King Garcio V Sanchez of Navarre (The tremulous) and Ximena Gonsalez of Asturias; his maternal grandparents were Ct. Sancho Garciez of Castile and Uracca Salvadorez. He had a brother named Garcio III Sanchez of Spain.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died on December 27th, 1065 in Leon, Leon, Spain.  He was buried in St. Isadoro, Leon, Spain.
