Ethelred II, the Unready was born about 0968. Ethelred II, the Unready's father was Edgar, the Peaceful of England and his mother was Elfrida. His paternal grandparents were Edmund I of England and Elgiva Saint; his maternal grandfather was Earl Ordgar Ealdorman of devon. He was an only child. He died in 1016.General Notes
