King of Leon Alfonso IX of Leon 
Alfonso IX was born on August 15th, 1171 in Zamora.1 Alfonso IX's father was King of Leon Ferdinand II of Leon and his mother was Urraca of Portugal. His paternal grandparents were Alfonso VII the Emperor RAIMUNDEZ COUNT OF CASTILE and Berenguela BERENGAR of Barcelona. He was an only child. He died at the age of 59 on September 24th, 1230 in Villanueva de Sarria.1 
Alfonso IX and Berengaria of CASTILE were married in a religious ceremony in 1197.1 Their marriage was annulled. They had a son named Ferdinand.

Ferdinand was born in 1199.1 He died at the age of 53 on May 30th, 1252 in Seville, Spain.1
