Catalina's father was Juan Ureta Ordoñez  and her mother was Jeronima Pastene Justiniano.  Her paternal grandparents were Juan Bautista Ureta  and Maria Ordoñez ; her maternal grandparents were Francisco Pastene Seixas and Catalina Justiniano y Pasqual. She had two brothers and a sister, named Jose, Fadrique de and Maria.
