Bernard III de's father was Gautier de St. Valery and his mother was Isabel (or Elizabeth) de Montlhery. His paternal grandfather was Bernard St. Valery; his maternal grandparents were Guy Seigneur De Montlhery and Hodierne De Gometz. He had three half-brothers named Milo de, Josceline II de and Geoffrey de. He died after 1105.General Notes

Ayers, p794, has a rather mixed up generation here. Does not name aBernard.
Instead mentions a Guy de St. Walery and a Ranulph de St. Walery as thefather
of Reginald de St. Valery.
Roll: Bernard de Saint-Valery, at Senlac; presumably the son of Papia,
daughter of Richard II, duke of Normandy, and Gilbert, advocate ofSaint-Valery.
Doesn't check out with the dukes of Normandy line.
