Swanhilde of was born about 0946 in Saxony.1 Swanhilde of's father was Hermann Billung of Saxony and her mother was Hildegarde von Westerbourg. Her paternal grandparents were Billung of Saxony and Ermengarde de Nantes; her maternal grandparents were Lothar II Count of Stade and Swanhilde Hamaland. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Bernard I (Benno) Duke of, Liudger, Matilda Billung of, Imma and Swanhild von. She died on November 26th, 1014.1 General Notes
