His paternal grandparents were Eystein Glumra the Noisy Jarl of the Upplands Ivarsson and Aseda Rognvaldsdatter; his maternal grandfather was Hrolf Nefja of Norway. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Rollo, Hallad, Rollo Viking King of Norway Duke of, Thori, Ivar, Thorer "The Silent", Hrollinger, Malahut, Thordis and Torf of.
