Henry was born about 1437 in ,Latimer,Buckinghamshire,England. Henry's father was George Neville and his mother was Elizabeth De Beauchamp. His paternal grandparents were Ralph De Neville and Joan De Beaufort. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas, Jane and Catherine. He was the oldest of the four children.
