Irene was born in 1050. Irene's father was Andronikos Dukas and her mother was Marija Bulgaria. Her paternal grandparents were Ioannis Dukas, Prince of Byzantine Empire and Irini Pegonitissa; her maternal grandparents were Trojan of Bulgaria and Kontostephane UNKNOWN. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Michael Dukas, Ioannis Dukas, Irina Dmitrievna, Anna and Theodora Dukaina. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 72 on February 19th, 1122.General Notes
